Dorothy K. Glor, Kenmore church’s longest-tenured member

Feb. 18, 1923 – April 13, 2013

Dorothy K. Glor, the longest-tenured member of Kenmore United Methodist Church, died unexpectedly Saturday after suffering a fall at her Kenmore home. She was 90.

Born in Buffalo, the former Dorothy Krehbiel was a graduate of Kenmore High School and attended Michigan State University. She worked as an operator for New York Telephone Co. and managed her husband’s dental office for several years.

A member of Kenmore United Methodist since the age of 13, she served as president of the church’s board of trustees. She was a volunteer treasurer for the gift shop at the former Millard Fillmore Hospital for 10 years. She also was a member of the Michigan State Alumni Association.

Her husband of 59 years, Dr. Richard L., died in 2006.

Surviving are four sons, Dr. Timothy, Bruce J., Christopher and Gary.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Kenmore United Methodist Church, 32 Landers Road at Delaware Road.
