Letter: Don’t criticize Carson for speaking the truth

Don’t criticize Carson for speaking the truth

In his March 30 op-ed piece, Clarence Page expressed sympathy for President Obama’s discomfort at the National Prayer Breakfast during Dr. Ben Carson’s remarks. He was rude, according to Page.

Speaking truth to power is not rude, although in today’s world, it certainly is politically incorrect; especially if the “power” is part of a temporarily captive audience in a public forum.

My thought: Hopefully the president now realizes how the Supreme Court justices must have felt at the State of Union address when he publicly upbraided them. What is the old adage? What’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.
