A symposium and a dinner will be held April 16 honoring the memory of internationally renowned historian and human rights activist Alison L. Des Forges, who died in the crash of Flight 3407 in 2009.
The symposium, “Human Rights in the Middle East and Central Africa: Comparisons and Contrasts Between Rwanda and Israel,” will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. in 509 O’Brian Hall on the University at Buffalo’s North Campus in Amherst. It’s free and open to the public.
The Scholarship Fund Dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Jacobs Executive Development Center, formerly the Butler Mansion, at 672 Delaware Ave. ► at North Street. ◄ Reservations are required for the dinner. For more information, call 645-2258.
