Holiday programs in store for Niagara Power Vista

LEWISTON – The New York Power Authority will observe the holiday season with its annual Festival of Trees from today to Jan. 5, and with a Deck the Halls program from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. next Saturday, both events in the Niagara Power Vista, 5777 Lewiston Road. Parking and admission are free.

The Festival of Trees features a display of artificial evergreens decorated with energy efficient lights and arranged along the Power Vista’s glass walkway. It is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

The Deck the Halls program on Dec. 8 will include children’s photos with Santa Claus until 2 p.m. Also featured are raft making, performances by the Niagara Experience Players, an exhibit on energy-efficient lights and tips on celebrating a green holiday.

Lewiston Boy Scout Troop 855 will sell hot dogs, roasted chestnuts and hot chocolate and the Niagara Scenic Trolley will provide free rides between the Power Vista and the Gorge Discovery Center.
