WILSON, Jesse Birch

WILSON - Jesse Birch Of Purcellville, VA, died Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Wilson was born January 7,1934 in Charlottesville, VA, the son of Jesse Birch Wilson II and Cornelia Winston Clark Wilson Booth. Mr. Wilson was a principal in the Fairfax law firm of McCandlish and Lillard until retirement in 2009. Among his many appointments, Mr. Wilson served as the Commissioner of Accounts for the Circuit Court of Fairfax, a Trustee of the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation, and successive terms to the Board of Visitors of the University of Virginia. Mr. Wilson received his B.A. degree in 1956 and L.L.B. in 1963, both from the University of Virginia. He was an officer in the United States Navy and served in the Naval Reserves. His professional contributions included President of the Fairfax Bar Association, President of the Virginia Bar Association, and a permanent member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference. Mr. Wilson would like to be remembered especially for creating Hound Dog Day observed annually August 2nd. Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife Laura Conrad, formerly of Buffalo and his sister, Joyce Wilson Sielewicz of New Port, NH. A visitation celebration will be held 4-7 PM Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at the Lightfoote Restaurant, Leesburg, VA. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the Mount Moriah Methodist Church in Whitehall, VA.
