J.B. Hunt Transport truck driver Steve Lorber was honored for achieving two million miles of safe driving. Lorber currently drives for the company’s Intermodal business unit. As a thank you for his service and commitment to safety, J.B. Hunt awarded him a $10,000 bonus.


Watts Architecture and Engineering named Dan Chorley an intern architect in the architecture department, and Laura Lichtenthal a civil engineer in the firm’s Transportation Department. Chorley holds a master’s degree from the University at Buffalo. Lichtenthal is a recent graduate of Clarkson University. She is an engineer-in-training.


Phillips Lytle attorney Randolph V. Clower recently participated in a “pre-seed workshop” for inventors and technologists presented by High Tech Rochester. Clower was part of a team representing Repairogen, a biotechnology start-up dedicated to the development of anti-aging and DNA-repair skin care products that reduce UV-induced skin damage and boost the skin’s natural repair mechanisms.

Ted’s Hot Dogs opened its eighth Western New York location with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the entrance to its newest store at 3637 Union Road in Cheektowaga. The event marked the return of the restaurant to the same location it occupied for several years during the late 1980’s and early 90’s.


Buffalo Exterminating recently launched its mobile heat chamber service. The new heat chamber is specifically designed and equipped to eliminate bed bugs and eggs in infested items by heating items inside the chamber to temperatures of 122° F.


Compu-Mail received the Printing Industries of America “Benny” statuette for its Best of Category Premier Print Award and also received two Awards of Recognition, the second highest honor in the competition, in the categories of Calendars and Direct Mail Campaigns, Business-to-Business. In addition, the company was also honored with a Silver Award in the annual Gold Ink Awards, produced by Printing Impressions magazine. Both awards recognized Compu-Mail’s 2012 calendar and Charity Connection campaign.
