Suspect in Tonawanda robbery caught in Buffalo

A man suspected of robbing a Town of Tonawanda gas station at gunpoint last weekend was taken into custody today in Buffalo.

Louis Henhawk, 39, who lives in the town, was spotted walking along Hertel Avenue, near Niagara Street, by Buffalo police earlier today, according to Lt. Nicholas A. Bado, a spokesman for the town’s police department. Henhawk now is in the town’s lockup, awaiting arraignment on charges of robbery, menacing, larceny and criminal possession of a weapon.

A warrant for Henhawk was issued following Saturday’s robbery of a Noco gas station on Niagara Falls Boulevard. Investigators said he threatened a clerk with a handgun and fled with approximately $100 in cash.
