Kurt S. Lang, of Buffalo, a retired branch manager for General Motors Corp. in Rochester, died Wednesday in Hospice Buffalo, Cheektowaga, after a 17-year battle with prostate cancer. He was 77.
A lifelong Buffalo resident, he was a 1956 graduate of the University of Buffalo. He was captain of the UB basketball team in his senior year, which had a 17-3 win-loss record.
After graduation, he served in the Army stateside before going to work for General Motors Corp. He retired in 1992.
Mr. Lang served as an elder at Central Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, the former Sandy Schultz; a son, Jason; a daughter, Dr. Jennifer; a sister, Betty Kuhn; and two brothers, Harry Jr. and Robert.
A service will be at 1 p.m. today in Forest Lawn Chapel.
