Falls man accused in eight shoplifting incidents

NIAGARA FALLS - A Ninth Street man caught shoplifting at Rite Aid on Pine Avenue also was charged in seven more shoplifting cases during the past two months, city police said.
Kenneth E. Ellison, 52, was charged Monday with eight counts of petit larceny and six counts of trespassing and resisting arrest.
Ellison is accused of taking more than $130 worth of soap and lotion, then running out of the store in the 1000 block of Pine Avenue. Police found him hiding behind a dumpster at Pine Avenue and 10th Street, and said they saw him trying to throw away the stolen merchandise. Police said they arrested him after a brief foot chase.
Ellison also was charged as a suspect in seven other shoplifting cases, which included six incidents at a 7-Eleven on Hyde Park Boulevard, where he is accused of taking items from the store without paying for them on Aug. 2, and Sept. 3, 4, 10, 20 and 21, as well as another case at a 7-Eleven on Pine Avenue on Sept. 22.
