Trenton W. White, financial consultant and former college fullback, died Thursday at Hospice Buffalo in Cheektowaga following a short illness. He was 28.
Mr. White had been working as a financial consultant at AXA Advisors in Williamsville since October. In September, he completed the sections of the New York life and health insurance exams that allowed him to serve as a licensed financial adviser.
He previously worked as the chief operating officer of HomeProNet.com from November 2008 to September 2011, serving New York City and Western New York. He also had worked as a manager at MWM Real Estate Holdings LLC in San Clemente, Calif.
Born in Tucson, Ariz., Mr. White graduated from Jackson High School in Canton, Ohio.
Mr. White attended the U.S. Air Force Academy and later the University of Illinois, where he earned a degree in business management.
He played football at both schools, at Air Force competing in the Mountain West Conference and at Illinois in the Big 10.
He was trained in the F-16C fighter jet at Sumter Air Force Base in South Carolina.
He was an outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed snowboarding, fishing, biking and playing softball. He also was a world traveler, visiting Japan, Europe, Hawaii and Mexico.
He is survived by his mother, Kimberly "White" Griffin; his father, Dr. William White; a brother, Taylor White; and his fiancee, Natalie Lindner.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at 40 La Riviere Drive, in the rear pavilion near Templeton Landing on the Buffalo waterfront.
