It's fair to say Western New York has a thing for "Baby."
Kaleidoscope Theatre Productions is the latest local company to produce the 1983 musical about three expectant couples by composer and Buffalo native David Shire and lyricist Richard Maltby Jr. The show, which opens tonight in the company's home at Medaille College (18 Agassiz Circle), has become familiar to many area theatergoers from several productions by local companies over the years.
Kaleidoscope's production, directed by Lisa Ludwig, features a large cast, including Greg Gjurich, Mary Coppola Gjurich, Bobby Cooke, Beth Gerardi-Wharton, Jake Albarella, Amy Jakiel, Miranda Lombardo, Nathan Miller, Geoff Pictor and Karen Szalach.
Tickets are $17 or $12 for students and seniors, with more information available at 479-1587 or www.kaleidoscopetheatreproductions.com.
