Town Clerk Johanna M. Coleman is reminding residents that state law requires them to register every dog that is at least 4 months old and is kept in the state for longer than 30 days.

Licenses cost $13 for a spayed or neutered dog -- owners must provide a certificate from a veterinarian -- and $20 for an unsprayed or unneutered dog. The fees are reduced for senior citizens who own dogs.

Owners also must provide proof of rabies vaccination.

For more information or to download an application go to or call the Town Clerk's Office at 683-9028.
