Crossbow demo Saturday in Wilson

Legalization of crossbow use during gun seasons in New York and proposed legislation to grant the Department of Environmental Conservation control of season setting makes the third annual Crossbow Demonstration Day at Wilson Conservation Club on Saturday an even more desired destination.

Reps from seven major crossbow makers will be on hand from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the club at 2934 Wilson Cambria Road (Route 425) in Wilson. Visitors can check out the function of crossbows manufactured by Darton, Excalibur, Horton, Kodabow Parker, Scorpio and TenPoint.

Along with shared information from field and range experts from these companies, visitors have the chance to try out models of interest on ranges set up on club grounds behind the clubhouse.

DEC officials will be there to discuss seasons, current regulations, and other related crossbow topics.

For more specifics on this gathering and directions to the club, call Chris Schotz at 731-1641, Bill Hilts Jr. at 731-9984 or Stan Culverwell at 751-6267.
