SHUBERT, Norman W.

SHUBERT - Norman W. 84, of Estero, FL joined his true love, Irma Shubert (nee Wheeler) in the embrace of our Lord Jesus on May 12, 2012. The angels at Joanne's House Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs helped ensure his final days were filled with dignity, love and comfort. Born on November 23, 1927 in Pike Township, PA, he joined the US Navy in WWII, serving as a Radio Class A Operator. After the war, Norm moved to Niagara Falls, NY and worked as an electrician at Hooker/Occidental Chemical for 41 years before retiring to Florida in 1990. He loved telling stories and jokes with friends and family, while playing a mean hand of cards, but his greatest thrill was spending time with his boisterous family. Norm lovingly raised and is survived by nine daughters: Linda Klemick (Michael), Wanda White, Sylvia Fritz, Darlene Jex (Fred), Dolores Shubert, Cynthia Wittmann (Edward), Traci Blowers, Jennifer Johnson (Mark) and Lynette Menna (Joseph) as well as 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Clyde and Carl Shubert, his sister Donna McGarry, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family requests you share your favorite memory of Norm at a memorial service to be held on Friday May 25, 2012 at 1pm at Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY. Visit www.rutland-corwin.com to send a condolence to the family.
