A regional supplier of plumbing, heating, cooling, refrigeration and electrical supplies has acquired a Syracuse-based competitor to expand its customer base and reach.
Irr Supply Centers of North Tonawanda announced it has purchased the assets of Inland Supply of Syracuse, which services the supplies and equipment needs of contractors as well as institutional, industrial and municipal customers.
Financial terms were not disclosed. Inland's single location will remain open and will now operate under the Irr Supply name.
Irr operates 32 locations in Western and Central New York, as well as northern Pennsylvania, and also operates five registered Kohler showrooms under the Visionary Baths & More brand. It previously bought a rival supplier in Derby, with four locations.
"The acquisition of Inland Supply affords us the opportunity to expand our presence in the Syracuse market," said Irr President Michael Duffy.
Separately, Irr also sold an old location at 1587 Main St. in Buffalo to William S. Hein & Co. Inc. for $185,000.
Irr spokesman Tony Iacuzzo said the company moved that store across the street to a larger facility at 1572 Main St.
