The University at Buffalo Law School Alumni Association will honor the following at its annual Distinguished Alumni Awards dinner next Thursday in the Hyatt Regency Buffalo:

Cynthia M. Rufe, U.S. district judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, for her conscientious and diligent performance in the judiciary; Mark K. Suzumoto, partner, Van Etten Suzumoto and Sipprelle of Los Angeles, for his leadership by example as a private practitioner; Vincent E. Doyle III, partner, Buffalo law firm of Connors and Vilardo, for his many contributions to the betterment of the community; William J. Hochul Jr., U.S. attorney for the Western District of New York, for his commitment to public service; Jill M. Bond, senior vice president and general counsel for Rich Products Corp. in Buffalo, for her exemplary performance in business; and Michael S. Taheri, partner, Buffalo law firm of Taheri and Todoro, for outstanding service to the university and community by a non-alumnus.

Suneel's Light, a local nonprofit foundation that raises funds for genetic research to cure Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and for increased public awareness of the genetic disease, appointed Barry E. Maloney to its board of directors for a two-year term. Maloney is vice president of business development at Scott Danahy Naylon Insurance Brokers in Amherst.

Craig Jackson of Hamburg Overhead Door achieved IDEA Fire Door Technician certification recently.

Crowley Webb, a marketing communications agency in Buffalo, was recognized by the Web Marketing Association's 2012 Internet Advertising Competition Awards for the Wake 2011 website with the Best Events Website. The Wake is an annual fundraiser for the Irish Classical Theatre Company. Award credits go to Pete Reiling, art director, copywriter and illustrator for the site, and to designer/programmer Jon Gerlach.

Netanium Network Security of Buffalo was awarded a $490,000 contract for one year for network security services from a national bank based in Buffalo. Services include security software and hardware updates, certified training and on-site professional services.
