No-hitter for Wilson's Schlosser
Brad Schlosser threw a no-hitter as he faced the minimum 21 batters and Wilson scored in the bottom of the seventh to take a 1-0 nonleague victory over North Tonawanda on Thursday.
Schlosser, a senior, struck out eight and did not walk a batter; the only baserunner reached on an error and then was thrown out attempting to steal. Schlosser outdueled senior Bobby O'Connor of NT, who threw a two-hitter with nine strikeouts.
The Lakemen's winning run came when Cam Sidote's single knocked in Pat Diez, who had reached after being hit by a pitch.
*Andrew DeWitt struck out eight in six innings as Niagara Falls beat Lancaster, 5-0.
*The Hamburg boys lacrosse team lost its first game of the season, 10-3, at Gonzaga of Washington, D.C. Gonzaga (10-1) is ranked ninth in the nation in the Under Armour/Inside Lacrosse Top 25. Thomas Lipomi made 17 saves for Hamburg (4-1).
