5 charged with drunken driving

Erie County sheriff's deputies arrested five people on drunken-driving charges during separate stops early Saturday morning.

Charged were:

*Andrew J. Lundberg, 25, of Glenwood. Deputy Don Hoelscher was on patrol in Springville, when he stopped Lundberg at 3:08 a.m. Saturday for allegedly driving erratically on South Cascade Drive, sheriff's officials said. Lundberg was charged with driving infractions and drunken driving after his blood-alcohol content registered .15 percent, authorities said.

*Jeffrey S. Atkinson, 20, of East Aurora. Deputies John Szczepanski and Rich O'Neil pulled over Atkinson at 3:24 a.m. Saturday for allegedly driving erratically on the Route 400 Expressway in Elma, officials said. A breath test revealed his blood-alcohol content to be .16 percent, officials said, which is twice the legal limit. Atkinson was charged with driving while intoxicated, traffic infractions and having an open alcoholic beverage container.

*Joshua J. French, 25, of Colden. Deputy Ben Pisa stopped French for erratic driving on Allen Road, near Route 240, just before 4 a.m. Saturday in Concord. Pisa was charged with traffic infractions, having an open alcoholic beverage container and felony DWI. The charge is considered a felony because French had a previous DWI conviction in 2010, sheriff's officials said.

*Joshua P. Beats, 20, of Elma. Beats was stopped at about 4:49 a.m. Saturday on Transit Road near William Street in Cheektowaga by Deputies Simon Biegasiewicz and Joseph Cottone, officials said. He posted a blood-alcohol content of .16, authorities said.

*Nancy L. Scott, 43, of Gowanda. Scott was arrested on DWI charges by Deputies Christopher Soluri and Neil Held about 5:30 a.m. Saturday. She is accused of being passed out behind the wheel of her vehicle while parked at a business on Route 5 on the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation.
