EASTER EGG-STRAVAGANZA: The Lofts at 136 downtown student housing complex is hosting a free Easter event for children ages 12 years and younger from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday in their facilities at 136 North Division St. Parents must accompany all children. Easter baskets will be given out to the first 100 children. The R&R BBQ truck will be on site selling food. This event starts the "Lofts Community Matters" initiative for students to engage civically and expand service learning from outside the classroom. To register your child, call 935-6400.

WACKY WABBIT PARTY: St. James Lutheran Church, 2437 Niagara Road, Bergholz, will host its annual Wacky Wabbit Party and Easter Egg Hunt from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call the church office at 731-4057.

CHILDREN'S EASTER CARNIVAL: The Chautauqua Children's Safety Village will host the Children's Easter Carnival from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Safety Village, 2695 Route 394, Ashville. Children can visit the miniature buildings that make up the village to play games and win candy and prizes and enjoy train rides, face-painting, pictures with the Easter Bunny and kids crafts. An Easter Parade is scheduled for noon. Food, drinks, homemade candy and kettle corn will be for sale. A free Child ID program will be offered. Children will have their picture and fingerprint taken. Parents will receive a free CD with their child's personal information. Admission for the carnival is $1 for children ages 3 to 12. All others are free. BIRDWATCHER CLASS: The Beaver Meadow Audubon Center is sponsoring a beginners birdwatcher class from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the center, 1610 Welch Road, North Java. FILM: The Saturday Family Film Series, sponsored by the YWCA of the Tonawandas and Riviera Theatre, will feature the "Big Miracle" (PG) at 11 a.m. Saturday, 67 Webster St., North Tonawanda. The cost is $2 per person. A $1 raffle ticket or a nonperishable food item for the YWCA food pantry buys a chance to win a movie poster. Park free in the Manhattan Street parking lot.

ROTARY RACE: The East Aurora Rotary Club Bunny Hop 5k Race, sponsored by Gentle Destistry of Lancaster, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at East Aurora American Legion Post 362, 1 Legion Drive. Registration on the day of race is $20. For information, visit www.earotary.org. Post-race party at the American Legion. Gentle Dentistry will provide toothbrushes to all of the runners.

VACATION CLUB: The Delavan Grider Community Center, 877 E. Delavan Ave., will offer a "vacation club" for students during the Buffalo Public Schools spring break period Monday to Friday. Breakfast and snacks will be provided, but students will need to bring a bag lunch. Activities at the community center will include arts and crafts, gym, computer classes and academic workshops.
