Calling all camps!
The Buffalo News plans to run its annual directory of summer camps in the WNY area in early May. If you would like your camp listed, please e-mail the information to Deputy Sports Editor Dennis Danheiser at email@example.com. There is no charge.
The Empire State Games Legacy Fund, created from excess revenue generated from the 2010 ESGs in Buffalo, will award two $2,500 scholarships for the next 10 years to one male and one female who participated in the ESGs, and demonstrated excellence and leadership in the community. Applications are due May 18 with the recipients being announced on June 6.
Candidates must complete an online application from at www.esgscholarship.com and then mail two reference letters, an essay, and transcripts to the Empire State Games Legacy Fund, c/o Buffalo Niagara Sports Commission, 617 Main St., Suite 200, Buffalo, NY 14203.

BOXING: The Police Athletic League Boxing is moving to West Side Community Services on 161 Vermont Street, Buffalo, NY 14213. Sessions will be Monday through Friday from 4-8 p.m. Call 851-4615 for details.
VOLLEYBALL: The Niagara Frontier Starships competed in the Big South National Qualifier in Atlanta, Ga., with more than 1,200 teams in the country. They finished fourth which qualified them for the Junior National Championships in Columbus, Ohio in July. The team also raised $500 for the Dig Pink initiative through USA Volleyball during the event.
