Frontier High School's Gay Straight Alliance hosted a conference in late March, which was attended by nearly 300 students from about 20 different schools.
The conference included multiple stations with information about different LGBT groups in the community, upcoming GSA events in the area, a scavenger hunt, a keynote speaker, music, dinner and opportunities for scholarships.
"I'm so glad to be a part of something where people are so accepting and reassuring," said Kelsey Graham, a Frontier senior and GSA officer.
The keynote speaker for the conference was motivational speaker Mary DeNisco, who spoke about how far the gay community has come from her generation to the new generation.
"I am happy we came to this point in society that we can come together to celebrate unity in our community," said Kevin Sandmaier, president of Frontier's GSA.
"The most exciting part is seeing all the schools coming together, said Ian Shick, a Frontier GSA officer.
