AUGUSTA, Ga. -- We're getting late into the first round at Augusta National and there's a five-way tie for first among American Bubba Watson and four Europeans.
Joining Watson at 3-under at Scotland's Paul Lawrie, Spain's Miguel Angel Jimenez, Italy's Francesco Molinari and England's Lee Westwood. No European has won the Masters since Spain's Jose Maria Olazabal in 1999.
Sweden's Henrik Stenson held the lead throughout his round only to card a quadruple-bogey 8 on No. 18 after driving into the trees. He shot 71.
The rains haven't shown up yet to the relief of all. But the course is definitely playing soft.
