IGGULDEN, Walter S.

IGGULDEN - Walter S. Passed away quietly on February 25, 2012 at the Elderwood Health Care Center at Maplwood in Cheektowaga. Mr. Iggulden was a World War II veteran who served with the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve. Following the war he was a tool and die maker in Merritton, Ontario and a long-time resident of Thorold, Ontario until 1957. He and the family moved to Cheektowaga, NY where he was employed by General Motors (Harrison Radiator) until he retired in 1981. Mr. Iggulden was one of the founding members of the Foothills Trail Club of Buffalo and did considerable hiking activities with the group. With a keen interest in horticulture, he became a Master Gardener. In addition to his wife of 70 years, Katherine (nee Vidican), he is survived by two sons, Raymond (Janet) Iggulden of St. Louis, MO and David Iggulden of Toronto, Ontario; grandchildren Ellen Iggulden, Caroline Iggulden, Stephen Iggulden, Emma Pelchat and Henrietta Iggulden; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Ireton of Toronto; niece Joanne Welsh of St. Catharines and other nieces and nephews. A brother, Andrew Iggulden, preceded him in death. A Memorial Service will be held at Hillview Baptist Church, 26 Rehm Road, Depew, NY 14043 at 10:30 AM on Saturday March 3, 2012. Committal service will follow at 3:00 PM at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens (Funeral and Reception Center, Hwy 20, Fonthill, Ontario). If desired, memorials may be made to Hillview Baptist Church.
