PARKER - Maxine (Sundown)
Of the Tonawanda Indian Reservation, Basom, NY, suddenly, February 28, 2012, wife of the late Bernard Parker; daughter of the late Roger and Rubena (Ground) Sundown. Maxine was born November 10, 1936 in Batavia. She was a member of the Snipe Clan and was a Clan Mother. She volunteered for all the sporting events on the Reservation, keeping the books and was the scorekeeper. She also was a retired Registered Nurse. She was the mother of Lisa Parker of Basom, JoAnne (Harvey) Longboat of Six Nations Canada, Rebecca (Sonny Reuben) Parker of Basom, Gary Parker of Fort Erie, Ontario and Christopher Parker of Basom; survived also by 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sister of Janet (Darwin) Hill, Charlene (Alden Thompson) Sundown, Annette Tahamont, Mardell Sundown, Wilfred Ground, Rhonda (Tom Jones) Harjo, Milfred (Fay) Ground, Tina Ground and the late Vicki, Dorthea (Snookie) and Janice Hallett. Friends may call at the family residence, 7283 Parker Road, Basom, where funeral services will be held Friday, March 2 at 12:00 noon and 1:00 from the Long House.
