LongHorn Steakhouse is coming to town.
The Orlando, Fla.-based restaurant chain will open its first location at Quaker Crossing in Orchard Park sometime within the next year.
"It's just a matter of getting through the approval processes," said Gerald Buchheit, president of Quaker Crossing LLC.
LongHorn will tear down a former Montana's Cookhouse steakhouse and construct its own 6,000-square-foot building.
The chain chose Quaker Crossing for its first location because of the plaza's demographics, Buchheit said.
"According to them, there is a need for a good steakhouse, and that's what they are," he said. "They are very excited about coming to Western New York."
LongHorn Steakhouse was founded in Atlanta in 1981. The restaurant has five new locations opening in March and April in Florida, Maryland, Georgia, New Jersey and North Carolina. Buchheit said LongHorn is looking for two more Western New York locations.
