M&T Bank Corp. is planning to close one of its three Jamestown branches in May, consolidating services to an existing full-service office and a walk-up location.
The Buffalo-based bank confirmed Monday that it will close its office at 2-8 E. Third St., at Main Street, on May 25, although it will still conduct "certain nonretail activities" at that office, according to the state Department of Financial Services' weekly banking bulletin.
Meanwhile, services would be offered through the bank's primary Jamestown location, at 737 Foote Ave., near WCA Hospital. And the bank would also add a walk-up window to its existing drive-up site at Sixth and Main streets "so customers on Main can either drive through for service or can walk up to the facility," said spokesman Chet Bridger.
All five employees at the Third and Main location will be transferred to one of the other branches.
The state will accept public comments on the planned closing through March 26.
