R.L. Tabor, a retired dairy worker and church deacon, died unexpectedly Wednesday at his Buffalo home. He was 63.
Mr. Tabor was born in Minter City, Miss., and moved to Buffalo in the early 1970s. He was a dairy worker at Sorrento Lactalis for more than 20 years, retiring in August 2010.
He was chairman of the Deacon Board of True Bethel Baptist Church.
Mr. Tabor had a good sense of humor. He liked to cook.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, the former Andrea Buckingham; a son, Latees Thomas; two daughters,
LaShondra Roach and Michelle Gary; two brothers, Odell and Nemye; and a sister, Mary. He was predeceased by a son, Frankie.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today in True Bethel Baptist Church, 907 E. Ferry St.
