The Niagara men's team secured the No. 2 seed in the Atlantic Hockey tournament by holding on for a 2-2 tie against RIT in Rochester on Saturday.
Chris Lochner scored a power-play goal and Jeff Hannan tallied a short-handed goal for the Purple Eagles (15-10-9, 14-6-7).
Niagara earned a first-round bye for the AHA Tournament and will host the quarterfinal round on March 9.
Canisius closed out the regular season with a 5-0 loss at Mercyhurst. The Lakers held a 36-27 advantage in shots and tallied two power-play goals.

Kayla Raniwsky tied the game for Niagara in the second off a feed from Jocey Kleiber. Kleiber connected with Raniwsky on a long pass down the middle before the freshman raced in on a breakaway.
The Purple Eagles (10-15-8; 3-6-3 CHA) will host Robert Morris on Friday in the semifinals of the CHA Tournament.
Meanwhile, Erie Community College won't be playing in its fourth straight national championship after losing, 6-3, to Wiliston (N.D.) State in the NJCAA semifinal in Rochester. Christopher Kendall (Cheektowaga) had a goal and an assist for the Kats (19-5).
