GREELEY, Mary L. (Bogan)

February 21, 2012, formerly of Kenmore, NY, loving wife of the late William J. Greeley; devoted mother of Mary Greeley of Collingswood, NJ, William Greeley of Gladwyn, PA, John Greeley of Windermere, FL, Patricia Greeley of Pasadena, TX, Susan Keller of Austin, TX, Elizabeth Burgess of Plano, TX, Robert Greeley of Burke, VA and the late Virginia Greeley; loving grandmother of 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; dear sister of Virginia Charnock, Kathleen Smith, Patricia Kicher and the late William and Robert Bogan, Jean Leising and Rosemary George; aunt of many nieces and nephews. Mary proudly served her country during WW II in the Army Nurse Corps as a First Lieutenant. She cared for wounded soldiers in an Army Surgical Hospital in the China-Burma-India Theater. Following the family's transfer to Houston, TX, Mary became very active in the American Cancer Society of Harris County and was instrumental in establishing the first Oncology Unit in Clear Lake, TX. She also served on the board of the Texas Department of Mental Health. The family will receive friends at the C. MERTZ AND SON FUNERAL HOME INC., 911 Englewood Ave., Sunday from 2-6 PM, where Funeral Services will be held Monday at 9 AM and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Shrine of St. John Neumann Chapel (Belmont and Englewood Ave.), Monday at 9:30 AM.
