WAGNER-CARROLL - Kathryn Phyllis (nee Anderson)
Passed peacefully to heaven on February 18, 2012. She was born in Kane, PA, August 12, 1921, the daughter of Carl A. Anderson and Laura M. Harkins. After high school, she was employed at General Electric in Erie, PA, where she met Howard M. Wagner. Upon his return from serving in the Persian Gulf Command in WW-II, they were married on August 25, 1945. They settled in Buffalo, NY and raised six children: Dennis (Maryjane), Kristine (Joseph) Terrana, Joel (Donna), Marcia (Thomas) Nemmer, Cynthia (Joseph) DePlato and John Wagner. They enjoyed many summer camping trips with family and friends. Howard and Phyllis retired to St. Petersburg, FL in 1982. Ten years after Howard passed away, she was blessed to be married again to Richard Carroll of Erie, on May 1, 1999. They enjoyed traveling and visited Sweden, Russia and the Caribbean. In Buffalo, Phyllis was active in the Mothers' Club of St. Mary's School for the Deaf, the Association for Handicapped Children, and was a founding member of St. Catherine of Siena Church. In St. Petersburg, she was a member of the St. Paul's Women's Guild, the Senior Club and The Columbiettes. She went on pilgrimages to Medjugorje and Italy with fellow parishioners. In addition to her children, Phyllis is survived by nine grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, her Erie family, Cathy and John Baker and Jim Carroll of Boston, MA. She is a sister of the late Vivian (late Robert) Anderson and the late Vern (Phyllis) Anderson. Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the PAUL A. KLOC BLOSSOM CHAPELS INC., 4680 Clinton St. (corner Borden Rd.), West Seneca, (668-5666), where funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9:15 AM and from Annunciation Church at 10 o'clock. Friends are invited. Sentiment may be expressed through a contribution to St. Mary's School for the Deaf in Buffalo, in memory of Kathryn Phyllis Wagner-Carroll.
