Empire/EMCO, a Getzville-based national custom packaging solution supplier, named Gary R. Ashe national director of consumer innovation. Ashe previously served as director of OEM accounts at FXI Foamex Innovations.

Catholic Health appointed Alexandra Spencer director of clinical education. A Catholic Health nurse for more than 30 years, Spencer began her career as a staff nurse in 1978. She most recently was corporate nurse educator. Spencer is a graduate of the nursing program at D'Youville College and earned her master's degree from the University at Buffalo.

Harris Beach law firm named Todd Miles partner in the Public Finance and Economic Development Practice Group and the Municipalities and Quasi-Governmental Agencies Team at the law firm's New York City office.

Miles, previously a partner at Hawkins Delafield & Wood since 1991, has acted as bond counsel to the Erie County Industrial Development Agency for its Buffalo schools financing program, to the Erie County Medical Center Corp. for the recent financing of its new nursing home, and to the Erie Tobacco Asset Securitization Corp., Buffalo Municipal Water Finance Authority and Buffalo Sewer Authority.
