Two young men from Lancaster have been charged in a crime spree targeting unlocked vehicles parked in driveways, East Aurora police reported Tuesday.
Sean M. Turek, 20, of Michael Anthony Lane, and Zachariah D. Hrusa, 17, of Cadet Court, were each charged with five counts of petit larceny and one count of burglary.
Police said the thefts occurred in mid-January in the Town of Aurora and West Falls.
The stolen property included small electronic devices such as navigation units, laptop computers and cellphones, as well as loose change and compact discs. The two also are accused of stealing a flat-screen television and a chain saw during a burglary at a home on Reading Road in West Falls.
Some of the stolen property was recovered at area pawnshops, police said.
The charges were lodged after Detective Keith Kerl of the Lancaster Police Department turned over information to Detective Rick Daminski in East Aurora.
Following arraignment before Aurora Town Justice Jeffrey P. Markello, Hrusa was sent to the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Turek already is in custody in Alden Correctional Facility on unrelated charges filed by Lancaster police.
