June Castiglia, a prominent Hamburg business owner, died Sunday in a Tennessee nursing home. She was 86.
Born in Memphis, Tenn., the former June Collins moved to Hamburg in 1943 after she married the late Joseph J. Castiglia, mayor of the Village of Hamburg from 1964 to 1968.
Together, the couple opened Castiglia's Jewelry on Lake Street in the late 1940s and operated the Hamburg Music Store in the same building. They also operated the Hamburg Holiday Inn.
Her husband died in 2002.
Mrs. Castiglia attended First Baptist Church of Hamburg, where she was the longest-standing member.
Surviving are a son, Herb, and two daughters, Candace Pollock and Marsha "Chi-Chi" Weaver.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church of Hamburg, 120 Main St., preceded by prayers at 9 in Lakeside Memorial Funeral Home, 4199 Lakeshore Road, Town of Hamburg.
