HEAP OUTREACH: A Home Energy Assistance Program outreach session will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today in the Aurora Senior Center, 101 King St., East Aurora. HEAP is a federally funded program to assist Erie County residents with their heating bills. The program will be administered by the Erie County Departments of Social Services and Senior Services and is open to all income-eligible households. Attendees are asked to refrain from parking in the Oakwood Plaza lot.


DARE GRADUATION PROGRAMS: The Orchard Park Police Department and the Orchard Park Central School District will hold graduation ceremonies for fifth-grade classes that have completed the 13-week D.A.R.E. Program this week. At 11:30 a.m. today , a program will be held in St. Bernadette School, 5930 S. Abbott Road. A ceremony will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Nativity School, 4414 S. Buffalo St. A pizza party will follow at both schools, and students' parents, guardians, friends, relatives and school staff will attend.


KING LECTURE: Nationally recognized community activist and author Kevin Powell will be the keynote speaker at Hilbert College's Martin Luther King Jr. commemoration lecture at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Powell will discuss "Looking for Martin: Are Dr. King and His 'Dream' Still Relevant?" The event is free and open to the public. For information, call 926-8835.
