The deadline for submitting projects to be considered for the next round of funding by the Buffalo and Erie County Greenway Fund Standing Committee has been set for Friday.
The applications will be presented at a public meeting of the standing committee at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 22 in the Marcy Casino on Hoyt Lake in Delaware Park.
The committee has approved 19 projects so far, committing more than $7.9 million to the establishment of the Niagara River Greenway in Erie County. The committee receives $2 million a year from the New York Power Authority as part of the settlement agreement for the 50-year license renewal received in 2007 for the Niagara Power Project.
The committee is made up of representatives of Erie County, the City of Buffalo, Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy and the Power Authority.
