LENNON, William

LENNON - William, Jr. William Tobin Lennon, Jr., 76, of Indianapolis, IN and formerly Buffalo, NY, died Thursday. Bill was born to the late William Tobin "Toby" Lennon and Ursula Lennon, August 27, 1935, in Niagara Falls, NY. Bill graduated from Bishop Duffy High School in 1953 and received his BS, cum laude, in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 1957. He married his childhood sweetheart, Sally McGrath Lennon in 1957, and they lived most of their lives in Williamsville, NY, along with stints in Rochester, NY, Framingham, Mass., Long Island, NY. They have resided in Indianapolis since 2010. Bill had a successful career as an electrical engineer and businessman for Eastman Kodak, Computer Control Company, Sierra Research and Comptek Research. He holds several patents in the technology field. He was an avid Notre Dame football fan, golfer and loved to spend time at the family lake cottage at Crescent Beach, Ontario. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Bill is survived by Sally, his wife of 54 years as well as seven children: Mary Jo (Paul) MacPherson of Sewickley, PA, Lisa (William) Lawler of Bethesda, MD, Michael (Kathy) of Seattle, WA, Tom (Alanna) of Arlington Heights, IL, Dan (Stephanie) of Washington, DC, Kevin (Maura) of Kenilworth, IL and Lizabeth (John) Bradshaw of Indianapolis, IN. He also is survived by 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either Niagara Catholic High School Scholarship Fund, 520 66th Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14304-3299 or Hands Together at www.handstogether.org or P.O. A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 2nd at the Basilica of Sacred Heart on the University of Notre Dame Campus, South Bend, IN, with reception to follow.
