Merchants Insurance Group recently concluded its first insurance producer training school at the company's headquarters in Buffalo. The five-day, hands-on seminar was created to give Merchants' partnered agency personnel new sales strategies geared specifically to the insurance industry, as well as special insurance coverage information from partner companies and Merchants' latest offerings.

Gentle Dentistry of East Aurora is moving to its new 5,000-square-foot Lancaster facility at 5007 Transit Road. The new office will better service patients under one roof and allow the practice to expand the services it can deliver should it become necessary.

Seneca Hickory Stick Golf Course in Lewiston was named one of the Best Casino Courses in the U.S. by Golfweek magazine, in the January 2012 issue. The $25 million course, designed by golf course architect Robert Trent Jones II and owned by Seneca Gaming Corp., celebrated its first full season of golf this year after initially opening in July 2010.

KeyBank awarded First Hand Learning $5,000 to support expansion of its after-school science program, Science Firsthand. The program, begun in Buffalo in 2005 and now active on five college campuses and at 14 community centers across the city, connects mentors with students interested in pursuing firsthand science investigations after school.
