Fire that broke out at Initially Yours shop caused heavy damage to adjacent businesses, second-floor offices

Volunteer firefighters battled a blaze Wednesday night that caused an estimated $1 million in damage to a retail store located on the same block as the fire station.

Snyder Fire Department responded to the fire at the Initially Yours shop, 4554 Main St., and found massive flames spilling from the front windows.

"A quick attack knocked down the flames and kept the majority of the fire damage confined to this business," according to Snyder Assistant Chief Paul Griebner. Heavy smoke damage was reported to adjacent businesses and offices on the second floor.

The Snyder department was assisted by a crew from Main Transit Fire Department and the Eggertsville Hose Company filled in at the Snyder firehouse.

One Snyder firefighter suffered a minor injury but remained on duty.

The damage to the building, owned by 3D Partners, was estimated at $400,000 and damage to the contents was estimated at $600,000.
