DUS, ANTHONY J.

DUS - Anthony J. PISCATAWAY, NJ -- Anthony "Tony" John Dus of Piscataway died Monday at home surrounded by his loving family, following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was 84. Born in Buffalo, NY. Mr. Dus resided in nearby North Tonawanda before moving to Piscataway 33 years ago. He worked for Western Electric, New Jersey Bell, and AT&T for 35 years before retiring. After retiring, his happy face could be seen at the Department of Motor Vehicles, first in Dunellen and later at the South Plainfield office. A decorated Korean Army Veteran, Mr. Dus received the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, a United Nations Service Medal, and a National Defense Service Medal. He was a member of the VFW and the Telephone Pioneers of America.He leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Mary Garbacz; three sons and three daughters: Alan and his wife Marilyn of West Seneca, NY; James and his wife Donna of East Stroudsburg, PA; Stephen and his wife Teresa of Oak Brook, IL; Joanne and her husband Douglas Zastrow of Woodbridge; Clare Anne of Chatham, and Mary Beth of Piscataway. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Aaron, Shelley, Aimee, Rebecca, Emily, Bethany, Alan, and Lauren; a great-granddaughter, Addison; and a brother, Stanley, of North Olmsted, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (www.dav.org).
