Citizens Bank named Steven Long a mortgage loan officer at its Williamsville office. Most recently a loan officer at MetLife Home Loans, Long has been in the mortgage business for 10 years. He is a University of Maryland graduate.

The Siwiec, Ryan, Vita & Associates Group at Merrill Lynch in Buffalo named Michael A. Gates an associate. Gates joined the company in 2009 after working several years as an international trainer. He will focus on business development, particularly in the southern tier.

The New York State Economic Development program, through the new regional council program, awarded Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute $500,000. The institute was one of 720 projects statewide that received funding totaling $785.5 million. The money for the economic development program came in part from a $200 million competitive bid process.

360 Professional Services Group in Amherst launched new updated websites for The Cantalician Center for Learning; Magic Mist Limousine; Ronco Communications and Electronics, Secura Technologies; Migraine-Away; and Altitude Marketing. The companies' sites are hosted on 360 PSG's secure servers at its business class data center in downtown Buffalo.



Katz Americas employees collected nearly 2,500 pounds of food products for the Food Bank of WNY during their annual holiday food drive. Proceeds from the food drive will benefit the food pantries of Niagara County in Lockport, Niagara Falls and North Tonawanda.
