Brenda Garner, worked in banking industry; Dec. 11, 1959 -- Dec. 19, 2011

il,9l,4p3 Brenda E. Hicks Garner, who worked for many years in the local banking industry, died Monday in Erie County Medical Center. She was 52.

Born in Buffalo, she was a 1977 graduate of Kensington High School and later attended Brockport State, Medaille and Canisius colleges. Over the years, she held jobs at Key Bank, M&T Bank, and most recently at HSBC Bank.

She was a member of the Bethesda World Harvest International Church and worked with the church's prison and outreach ministries and its usher board. She also was a member of the "We 12 Unit" at WNY Jurisdiction No. 2, Department of Women of Church of God In Christ.

She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Maurice; her mother, Geneva Foster; stepfather, Joseph Foster; six sisters, Diane Law, Lynn Foster, Annette Tatum, Christine Faulkner, Gwen Hicks-Story and Pam Abram; and five brothers, Robert Hicks, Nicky Hicks, Joseph Foster, Jerome Foster and Mike Foster.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bethel Tabernacle, 688 Clinton St.
