Because of an editing error, an article in Wednesday's editions incorrectly said that former Rep. Jack F. Quinn, R-Hamburg, had endorsed Mitt Romney for the Republican presidential nomination. Quinn has not endorsed a presidential candidate. However, his son, former Assemblyman Jack Quinn III, has endorsed Romney.
Steven J. Baum PC, formerly the largest foreclosure law firm in the state, agreed to pay the U.S. Department of Justice a $2 million fine and change its practices, but made no admittance of wrongdoing. A story in the Dec. 17 editions based on a release from New York Financial Services Superintendent Benjamin M. Lasky, said the fine was for foreclosure practices, including "robo-signing."
