Kathy Bett of Lawley Insurance in Buffalo was recently appointed a special Blue Streak representative for the Central Insurance Companies. Blue Streak is a personal lines service, recognition and relationship program provided to select agencies representing Central Insurance that maintain consistently high professional standards and have a track record of producing high-quality personal lines for the company.

Buffamante Whipple Buttafaro named Danna E. Reynolds and Duane J. Whitmer staff accountants in the Orchard Park office. Reynolds received both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Alfred University. Whitmer received his bachelor's degree from Fredonia State College.

The Estate Analysts of Western New York named David R. Barrett president for the 2011-12 meeting season. Barrett is a CPA at Freed Maxick and Battaglia. Other officers include: vice president, Robert W. Constantine, director of planned giving, Rochester Institute of Technology; treasurer, Eugene P. Jordan, president, E.P. Jordan & Associates; and program coordinator, Victoria D'Angelo, Damon Morey.

Two logos created by Buffalo-based graphic designer Jim Charlier of JCharlier Communication Design will be featured in the third edition of the LogoLounge Master Library Series, Typography & Enclosures, scheduled for release late this year. The first logo, Artwork of the '70s, was created for the Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University for an online exhibit of works from its collection. The second logo was created for WIN Research & Marketing, a former Buffalo-based strategic marketing firm.

Courtyard by Marriott Buffalo-Airport recently celebrated its grand opening. The new hotel is located at 4243 Genesee St., Cheektowaga.



The Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation announced that four local organizations will receive $491,774 in funding through its mental health funding category: Cheektowaga Central School District, $182,736 for the Youth Mental Health project; Gateway-Longview, $72,954 to provide staff training through the REACH Institute in four mental health interventions based on cognitive-behavioral therapy; Healthy Community Alliance, $91,768 for its Rural Youth Counseling and Parent Empowerment Program; and Mid-Erie Counseling and Treatment Services, $144,523 for training and supervision in Scott Miller's client-directed outcome informed treatment approach.
