Botti's back

It has been two years since jazz trumpet ace Chris Botti was with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, and that is two years too long. Botti, when he was last here for a sold-out show in October 2009, presented a wonderful evening of music and show biz. He spun stories and cracked jokes and swung his way through a colorful repertoire including the ballad "When I Fall in Love," Miles Davis' "Flamenco Sketches" and the "Love Theme" from "Shrek."

What's in store this time? One can only guess.

The dapper trumpet man, who just returned from Shanghai, China, takes the stage at 8 p.m. Saturday in Kleinhans Music Hall. Associate Conductor Matthew Kraemer conducts. Admission is $30 to $75. Call 885-5000.
