Dallas 3, Phoenix 2 (SO): Trevor Daley's goal in the eighth round of the shootout won it for the Stars, who are off to their best start since 2006-07. Adam Burish had the tying goal for Dallas with 1:01 left in regulation.
New Jersey at Los Angeles: Jonathan Bernier was expected to get his second start of the season in place of goalie Jonathan Quick, who has recorded a Kings record three straight shutouts. Bernier hasn't played since losing a 4-2 decision to the Sabres in Berlin, Germany, on Oct. 8.
