Two Buffalo men led authorities on a chase through the city Tuesday evening while allegedly holding a woman against her will in the back of their car, state police said.
The incident began at about 6:30 p.m., when state troopers tried to pull over a driver for having illegally tinted windows on William Street at Fillmore Avenue, officials said.
The driver refused to stop and led the troopers on a chase to Stanley Street, where a passenger jumped out.
Troopers caught the passenger, Timothy Dozier, 30, after a foot chase.
Buffalo police took over the car chase and caught the driver, Hayward Tarver, 32, after his vehicle crashed at Olympic and Schreck avenues.
Buffalo police found a 24-year-old woman in the back seat. Authorities determined that she had been held against her will by Dozier and Tarver.
Both Dozier and Tarver were on parole when they were arrested Tuesday. They have both been charged with felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of stolen property and unlawful imprisonment, and a misdemeanor count of unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle. They also are facing possible parole violations.
