BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS: Hilbert College's St. Francis Week activities will kick off with a blessing of the animals at 1 p.m. today Friday, Sept 30 in St. Anthony's Cove, near the back of Bogel Hall, 5200 South Park Ave., Hamburg. The blessing will be done by Deacon Dennis Conroy. After the blessing, animals will receive pet treats and pet owners will be served ice cream.

FITNESS WALK: Be Active Erie County, a countywide health and physical activity program will hold a a pair of free walks led by Phil Haberstro of the Wellness Institute and staff from the Erie County Department of health at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday during AutumnFest at Sprague Brook Park, 9674 Foote Road, Glenwood. Registration for the 1.25- and 2.5-mile walks begins at the casino at 9 a.m.
