James J. Matusak, a Buffaloauto-technician who served in the Air Force, died Sept. 20 in Millard Fillmore Hospital after a long illness, one day after his 62nd birthday.
Mr. Matusak was born in Buffalo, attended Cardinal Dougherty High School and served in the Air Force in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
He later owned his own business in Buffalo, a small mechanic shop called M&W Auto. After closing the shop in 1997, he worked at Northtown Automotive in Tonawanda until he became ill about two years ago.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, the former Rose Vuong; a son, Anthony; a daughter, Victoria Porter; five brothers, George, John, Francis, Paul and Thomas; and two sisters, Ruth Golz and Mary Ann O'Day.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday in Forest Lawn Chapel.
