BARGNESI, Edward A. "Eddio"

BARGNESI- Edward A. "Eddio" 89, of Lackawanna, NY, a WW II veteran and former crane operator of 41 years at Bethlehem Steel plant, died Sunday, September 25, 2011, in Niagara Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. The eldest son of Mario and Rose (Bertilli) Bargnesi, Edward was born July 24, 1922, in Buffalo, NY, where he lived with his siblings, Rita, Clara, Mario, John, Danny and Lynn. In 1943, Edward married Ellen Louise Yax, whom he shared his life with for over 50 years until her death in 1996. A three sport letterman at Hutchinson Central High School, Edward was also a diehard Yankees fan, and enjoyed horse racing and spending time at Off Track Betting. Surviving Edward are his siblings Lynn Losardo (late Sam), Clara Guerra (Micky) and John Bargnesi (Carol); brother-in-law of Barbara Bargnesi and Charles Laudico; his nieces Bonnie (Yax) Kreinheder (Gary), Roberta Mustachie and Shrell Krawczyk (Jeffrey); also survived by several other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. No prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass at Our Lady of Victory Basilica, 767 Ridge Rd., Lackawanna, NY, Saturday morning at 9:15. Please honor the family request of no flowers. Memorial donations to the Jonah Center, Center for Cancer Care and Blood/Immuno Conditions, 462 Grider St., Buffalo, NY 14215, would be appreciated.
