The Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park Cocktail Fundraiser begins at 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the park at 1 Naval Park Cove. The event includes food, drinks and music. Tickets are $75 per person. Call 847-1773.

*Opera-Lytes will hold auditions for soloists and choristers as well as boy sopranos (ages 7-10) for the December performances of "Amahl and the Night Visitors" from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 2 in Amherst Community Church (77 Washington Highway, Snyder). Soloists should prepare one verse of an aria in English. Choristers need only prepare one verse of any song in English. Boy soprano auditions will consist of pitch matching, range ability and singing a simple song. An accompanist will be provided. *Young actors, singers and dancers are sought to audition for the Christmas production of "A Fairy Tale Theater" featuring performances of Hans Christian Anderson's "Snow Queen" and "Match Girl." *The Newfane Historical Society is seeking crafters and artists to display, as well as demonstrate their crafts, at the annual Apple Harvest Festival, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 2 on West Creek Road in Newfane. There is no fee. For more information, call George Updegraph at 531-0200.

*The Newfane United Methodist Church is seeking crafters to participate in its Candy Cane Craft Show, which takes place during the Town Holiday Light Up from 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 2 on Main Street in Newfane. *The Western New York Artists Group is looking for artists for the 20th annual Regional Artists Exhibition, which will be on view in Art Dialogue Gallery (1 Linwood Ave). The juror for this installment will be Bleu Cease, director and curator of the Rochester Contemporary Arts Center.

Works should be submitted to the gallery from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 1. Artists can download the prospectus at www.wnyag.com or call 885-2251. The exhibition runs from Oct. 7 through Nov. 11.
